God Crucified

Life is wasted if we do not grasp the glory of the cross, cherish it for the treasure that it is, and cleave to it as the highest price of every pleasure and the deepest comfort in every pain. What was once foolishness to us a Crucified God must become our wisdom and our power and our only boast in this world.

We sinned for no reason but an incomprehensible lack of love, and He saved us for no reason but an incomprehensible excess of love.Through death he purchased us.

God Crucified

He is the Life of all, our Lord and King over all, yet He did not arrange the manner of his own death for it would have appeared  as though He was afraid of some other kind. He accepted and bore upon the cross a death inflicted by others, and those others His special enemies.

A death which to them was supremely terrible and by no means to be faced; and He did this in order that, by destroying even this death, He might Himself be believed to be the Life, and the power of death be recognised as finally defeated.. A marvellous and mighty paradox has thus occurred, for the death which they thought to inflict on Him as dishonour and disgrace has become the glorious monument to death's defeat.”

A crucified God prevailed against all odds and two thousand years into the future we are still reaping the benefits of His crucifiction...
